Brooks Swift Leather Saddle

Lightweight and high-quality men’s racing saddle, copper plated with natural bend leather cover and chrome tubes. Once molded to the rider, its comfort will last forever. The polished leather cover, copper plates and the precision manufacturing increase the value of every bike.
It features delicately hand skived lower sides, where a thin stripe of the leather top surface is cut back, thus exposing the lighter coloured suede beneath which makes for an attractive visual accent and greater comfort when pedalling. The large copper rivets at the nose and tail are also hammered by hand, commensurate with our usual high level of attention to detail. As is the case with all of our hand manufactured saddles, the Swift proudly sports a metal nameplate at the rear, and is addition two embossed graphic details on the sides featuring the saddle name and incorporating an icon of a Swift in flight. On introduction the Swift was offered only with lightweight titanium rails. However, due to popular demand, since 2008 we also offer the Swift Chrome, with traditional steel underpinnings, finished to Brooks’ usual high standards with bright polished chromium plate.

The handsome Swift was the youngest gentleman’s racing saddle in the Brooks range.

The Swift is a narrow racing saddle suited for road bikes, gravel bikes and fixed gear bikes. Made in England from vegetable tanned leather and hand-hammered copper rivets.

Specifically created for use with Brooks England’s range of classic and modern style leather saddles, this Proofide Leather Saddle Preserve isn’t just to make your saddle shine, it assists with the custom moulding process that the saddle’s leather makes as it conforms to your individual shape. Made with natural ingredients, it keeps your saddle supple and also makes it showerproof.

Proofide is the only substance that should be used to care for your Brooks Leather Saddle. Apply a little Proofide to the finished side of the leather, allow it to permeate until dry and then polish off. Proofide should be used several times during the ‘breaking-in’ period and every 3-6 months thereafter. On bicycles not fitted with mudguards, an initial application to the underside of the saddle will be beneficial, this needs not to be polished off. The leather gets its colour during the tanning process and it is possible, therefore, that some colour residues will remain. It is recommended to polish the saddle with a soft cloth before first use.
