Tannoy M2 Speakers (SOLD)

Pass down from my friend who not using it any more. Pretty good sound. See the description and the Good Review during that time.

Description :
The Scottish Tannoy is one of the leading British audio manufacturers. It has a very long tradition in speaker manufacture, many highly regarded and popular models were produced in the past, plus several unique technologies developed by Tannoy all add up to make a list of achievements that is not easy to match. The current Mercury series is aimed at the budget end of the market. The Tannoy Mercury M2 is one of the three stand mounted Mercury models. So far the cheaper M1 has been most acclaimed, it received the European Speaker of the Year 98-99 Award from EISA. All the Mercury models are finished in the same style. The M2s were finished in black vinyl imitating wood, only the front baffle was finished in cherry. The cabinet is made mostly of 15mm MDF, only the back wall is made of 16mm chipboard. Most of the internal volume is filled with damping material. The cabinet is reinforced with slats glued in the corners. The cone of the mid-bass driver is made of coated paper. The dust cup is an inverted dome so that the whole cone has concave profile. It has plastic injection molded frames that is getting popular with budget speakers.

The sound of the Tannoy Mercury M2 can be incredible at times however sometimes limited. In the recordings where there are a few instruments playing, it is truly jaw dropping. Piano is incredibly realistic and acoustic guitars natural. Where it does fall down is when there are many instruments playing at the same time. It does not do it badly but more expensive speakers sound better on layered complex pieces of rock, jazz or classical playing many different instruments all at the same time. The Tannoy Mercury M2 has certainly been designed to satisfy a large number of audiophiles. For this reason, particular attention has been paid to the frequency response. It is very well extended at both ends. The mid range is natural, just a little bit layback behind the bass and the highs, but still very enjoyable, even when reproducing difficult female voices. It has a quite deep and powerful bass range, surprisingly articulated for the price. The Tannoy designers seem to have been able to recycle their experience on more expensive projects. Since the Mercury M2 has a quite deep and powerful bass range, it certainly contributes to the big sized sound of this loudspeaker. With a little bit of softness and roundness in its sound and a touch of bloom, the Tannoy Mercury M2 speakers are excellent choices for audiophiles with a conservative budget.

Musical Fidelity M6I – High End Integrated Amplifier (SOLD)

Award Winning amplifier! Selling on behalf of my friend. Barely 1 year old +.  Very mint condition.

Description:

From its exquisite build and future-proof connectivity to its technical excellence and powerful performance, the M6i is a no-compromise integrated amplifier.

It may be a single-box design, but the M6i is internally engineered as a separate pre-amplifier with two discreet monobloc power amplifiers.

This enables it to deliver a 200 watts-per-channel performance that’s exceptional for an integrated amplifier – and which surpasses that of many pre/power amp pairings.

The M6i is a highly flexible design, allowing it to be used in a wide range of systems. In addition to four line-level inputs and one balanced connection, there’s a USB socket to suit computer-based audio. There’s also a home-theatre throughout option, allowing you to seamlessly integrate the M6i into an AV set-up.

The M6i has the power and technical sophistication to drive any speaker with ease, sounding calm and unruffled as it moves from quiet musical moments to huge dynamic shifts.

As Alan Sircom’s review for HiFi+ concludes: “The M6i is in it for the long term; it’s an amplifier that will be used by listeners for years and years”.
