Miu Audio – MKTP2

“To be honest, the look of this hybrid amp doesn’t look appealing to me at all. My 1st impression: I wouldn’t even want to give it a try at all. I wouldn’t want to waste time on this small little amp. But I was wrong to judge the amp by its look.
To cut the story short, Ryan insisted that I should give it a shot.
To my surprise, the sound of my Martin Logan speaker driven by the Miu-tech was vastly different from its sound with my few thousands dollar amp. Republic’s Stop and Stare: The bass was more extended and better controlled. It now had more dynamics in spades, evident as an ability to play much louder without strain, and the soundstage is more clearly presented.
I am really impressed with this little monster.” By fishball

“just bought the MKTP2 yesterday, hard to believe such a powerful amp within that tiny chassis. produce high end tones and absolutely worth the money.

“This tiny amp MKTP-2 one audiophile magazine reviewer was staggered over its performance. At half the price, it’s no brainer where you want to put your money. The wonderful thing about this tiny amp is the audiophile can tune its ‘tone’ to suit one’s taste. Do pay attention to the choice of tube brand and interconnect cable for hooking it up. Yes, it is that revealing! Forget about the 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable, try using a proper RCA interconnect with adaptor. I’m using a XLO cable right now between the pre and power section. Go grab one now, you wouldn’t regret it.” by Fire-bottle

I was looking for a tube amp when i saw littlemart’s MP301 MK3.

The first thing that i was drawn to this amp is the range of tubes that can be switched without the need to do biasing as the unit comes with an auto bias feature built in and that its play KT88s.

The other was the fact that is the a 3rd generation of the amp, which gives a buyer like me good confidence that the desginer had gone back to the drawing board to address issues that arose in the 1st and 2nd gen sets.

Delivery was prompt and amp played beautifully out of the box with stock Shuguang tubes.

more surprises awaits ……

the SET amp has no problem driving a pair of Yamaha NS1000M with 12 inch woofers. volume knob at 11 oclock, my entire 5 x 4mtr room flows with lovely silky smooth sound with rock solid lows. the amp handles all types of music with gusto… rock, reggae, sedimental, instrumental…

i was wondering, how can 6.5W per channel sounds like that? its like a little power box with TNT inside.. haha….

CD sounds so so analogue now, vocals are crisp and clear with loads of emotions, its like i was playing LPs or had a good DAC in place.

i have planned to upgrade the power tubes to Gold Lion KT88s and preamp tubes to Jan Philips 6SJ7GWTs. these are on shipped to me and i m very sure with these tube upgrades, the amp will going to give some kick ass sound… haha….

for those looking at tube amp, you should really hear out this baby… i m sure it would not disappoint.

i hv owned quite a number of SETs before and none come close to the MP301 MK3. confirm confirm this is a keeper for a long long while” by John Woo
